Harness the power of the Conversational Cloud to connect with Apple Business Chat users. Effortlessly manage interactions and expand your brand's reach on this innovative messaging platform.

Follow the steps below to add Apple Business Chat to the Conversation Cloud: 

1. Adding Apple Business Chat to the Conversation Cloud 

Log into your Conversation Cloud account and click Channel Setup under the Manage tab in the hamburger menu.

The Channel Setup page appears.

Scroll down to find the Apple Message for Business option and click Get Started. The Apple Messaging for Business integration wizard appears.

On the Create AMB connector page click Next. The Create Apple Business Account page appears.

LivePerson must not create the brand’s account for them. 

The brand must set up a profile for their organization to add and use Apple's Messages for Business service. 

Please ensure they review Apple's Getting Started Guide for registration steps including how to set up native entry points such as Locations.

Upon receiving the brand's Apple Business Account, click Next. A confirmation dialog appears.

Click Next. The Connector Details page appears.

2. Adding Connector Information

Provide the required information:

  1. Name: Input the name for your connector.
  2. Description (Optional): Input a description for your connector.
  3. Enter Business ID: Input the Business ID from the brand's Apple Business Account.

Go to the brands account in Apple Business Register > Links > Copy ID or copy the business ID from the URL: "https://register.apple.com/messages/Business|D"

Click Next. The Rich Link Configuration page appears.

3. Configuring the Connector

In this section you need to configure:

  • Rich Link Fallback settings
  • File Sharing Configuration
  • Authentication Configuration

Rich Link Fallback Configuration

Provide the required information for the Rich Link Configuration:

  1. Rich Link Fallback Title: Input the substitute title to what title should display as a rich link if essential page information is unavailable.
  2. Rich Link Fallback Image: Input the substitute image URL to what image should display as a rich link if essential page information is absent.

File Sharing Configuration

Provide the required information for the File Sharing Configuration:

  1. Enable/Disable File Sharing: Click to enable or disable the file sharing option.
  2. Disabled File Sharing Message: Displays the default file sharing disabled message, click to edit the message.

Authentication Configuration

Provide the required information for the Authentication Configuration:

  1. OAuth Token URL: Provide the same OAuth Token URL supplied for the brand's Apple Business Account, if available.
  2. OAuth Client ID: Provide the same OAuth Client ID supplied for the brand's Apple Business Account, if available.
  3. OAuth Client Secret: Provide the same OAuth Token URL supplied for the brand's Apple Business Account, if available.

Click Next, the Skill Routing page appears.

4. Skill Routing

Create a skill or select a skill from the dropdown menu:

  1. Create New Skill: Click to create a new skill to route messages to specific agents.
  2. Target Skill: Select a precreated skill from the dropdown menu for routing messages.

Click Next, the Test Connector page appears.

5. Testing the Connector 

Scan the QR Code using your smartphone and send a text message to the number to test your integration.

Click Next, the Entry Points page appears.

6. Entry Points

Displays an overview of all entry points that are available for Apple Business Chats.

Click each option to display more information on the entry point.

Plan the user experience and which entry points will be the best fit for your brand's needs.

Scroll down to view the launch your business section of the page.

Click each option to display more information on turning on the Apple Business Messages account, activating entry points, and scheduling review meeting with your Apple representative 30 days after launch.

Click Done in the same page to complete the setup.

You have successfully integrated Apple Business Messages to the Conversation Cloud.

7. Configuring Connector on Houston

Navigate to https://supportal.lpnet.com/#/. The Supportal page appears.

Ensure that you are connected to the LivePerson VPN to access the supportal page.

Click Houston. The Mission Control page appears.

Scroll below and click Messaging Gateway V2. The Messaging Gateway V2 page appears.

Click Apple. The Apple connector page appears.

 Provide the required information:

  1. Name: Input a temporary name for the connector this will be replaced with an auto-generated name.
  2. Business ID: Provide the Business ID from the brand's Apple Business Account as done in Step 2.
  3. Auto Generate ABC Rich Links: Click to enable or disable to auto generate rich links and provide the fallback title and image in the field below as done in Step 3.

Click Create. The connector is successfully configured on Houston.

Wait 30 seconds for the changes made on Houston to take effect.

8. Adding Skills on Houston

Navigate to https://supportal.lpnet.com/#/. The Supportal page appears.

Ensure that you are connected to the LivePerson VPN to access the supportal page.

Click Houston. The Mission Control page appears.

Scroll below and click Skill Selection. The Skill Selection page appears.

Click Add rule and provide the required information:

  1. Order ID: Provide the order ID for the new skill. 
  2. Selected Skill: Select the required skill from the dropdown menu.
  3. Description: Provide a description for the skill as required.
  4. SDE Name: Select PersonalInfo or CustomerInfo as required for verification from the dropdown menu.
  5. Field Path: Select the appropriate option from the dropdown based on the SDE name.
  6. Value: Input the value as required for verification of skill routing.

Click Submit Changes. The skill rules are saved.

You have successfully configured and added Apple Business Chat to the Conversation Cloud.
